I run Workplace Operations at Clipboard, and like many folks here, I spend a lot of my time on hiring incredible people. One of the most common questions I get in interviews is, “What are the growth opportunities like?” And every time, I give the same answer: “If you do great work, you’ll be rewarded - and fast.”
But every company says they reward performance and candidates are right to be sceptical. At most places, ‘fast’ means maybe a promotion at your annual review, if there’s room. But Clipboard is different.
So instead of just telling you, I figured I’d show you. Below, you’ll hear from a few people in Workplace Ops who’ve progressed rapidly - some within weeks of joining. And they’re not outliers - this kind of growth happens across the breadth of Clipboard all the time.
Charlie Eikenberg
Joined as an Ops Associate in June ‘24, promoted to Head of Billing four months later
“I started at Clipboard as an Ops Associate running a small group of three Billing Reps and driving various projects: developing a training program, automating our outbound emails, revamping reporting to ensure we were achieving key customer outcomes, and so on. Within four months, I was running the entire Billing department of 50+ people across four teams collecting tens of millions of dollars per month. The scope, scale, and impact of my work and my decisions have all grown tremendously since my early days here.
What helped me early on? In a culture that rewards curiosity, initiative, and ownership – I was a ravenous learner, approached every problem like it mattered and did the small things well. The unique thing about Clipboard is that excellent work gets noticed, and they'll give you the opportunity to do more of it pretty quickly. As soon as I got the hang of things, more came my way. So don't get too comfortable!
I’ve no doubt that I simply wouldn't have had the opportunity to grow this quickly elsewhere.”

Joined as our first Collections Account Manager in August ‘24, promoted to Pod Leader within three months
“Clipboard is everything a great workplace should be. This isn’t a place where you’re just another name in a long list of employees - your work is noticed and your contributions matter.
When I started as a Collections Account Manager (CAM), the role was still new, so I had to adapt quickly while also helping shape what the position would become. Right from the start, I was encouraged to share ideas and suggest improvements. The leaders at Clipboard set a high standard, creating a culture that rewards excellence, where hard work is recognized, and ideas are truly valued.
Because of that support, I was quickly promoted to Pod Leader, where I now mentor and guide four team members as they grow in their roles. One thing my manager said that really stuck with me is: “We promote based on merit, not seniority.” And that’s exactly how Clipboard operates - if you work hard and bring value, you’re given opportunities to grow.
I’m excited to see what’s next for me here!”
Chris Desterbecq
Joined as a Customer Support Agent in the Workplace Support team in October ‘24, promoted to our newly created Customer Experience team within 6 weeks, then promoted again to Customer Experience Team Lead 4 months later
“I joined Clipboard as a Workplace Support Agent, thinking I was walking into an ordinary company and a standard entry-level Customer Support role. To my great surprise, after two months’ dedication to my craft, my hard work was recognized and I was offered the opportunity to help build the foundation for the new Customer Experience team.
I am certain about three things at Clipboard. 1) The company moves fast, so don’t get comfortable. 2) Hard work is recognized and rewarded. 3) Clipboard has many different teams focused on helping our customers, and the management team is always looking to place individuals in roles that leverage their skillset and allow them to have the greatest impact possible.”

Promoted from Collections Specialist to Subject Matter Expert (essentially Senior Collections Specialist) in April ‘24, then promoted again six months later to Team Lead - second from left below, with her family!
“Working at Clipboard Health has truly been the best experience of my career, starting as a Collections Specialist to now being a Billing Team Lead. Throughout, I’ve been supported by an amazing team that recognizes hard work and constantly motivates people to grow. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such supportive colleagues who have taught me so much.
What stands out most is the genuine sense of opportunity at Clipboard and from day one my efforts were noticed and supported. I remember discussing the possibility of becoming a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with my manager. Within the same week, a clear action plan was laid out with clear expectations on what I needed to achieve to make it happen.
Six months later, I was fortunate to receive another opportunity - this time as a Billing Team Lead. In my interview for the role, a key focus was my own ability to identify and develop talent - so I’ve experienced from all sides how deeply growth is embedded in CBH’s culture.”
Lexi Hartney
Joined as a Customer Support Agent in the Workplace Support team in October ‘24, promoted to our Training team within 4 weeks
“I started out at Clipboard as a Workplace Support Agent. During the hiring phase, I was immediately drawn to two of the core values, namely Curiosity and Ownership.
As someone with a natural propensity for asking questions and digging into things I should probably leave alone, I was excited by the opportunity to provide my feedback on training when asked, not really expecting anything to come from it immediately. Within days of sending my document to the Head of Training, I was put on a track to join the team. About a month later, I made the move.
Feedback is a huge part of Clipboard’s culture - we give it, receive it, and act on it constantly. That, combined with the company’s commitment to growth and excellence, makes everything move at lightning speed. I’ve grown immensely here, both as an individual and as a team member, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for me and Clipboard.”

Joined as a Customer Support Agent in the Workplace Support team in March ‘24, promoted to Subject Matter Expert (essentially Senior Agent) in November ‘24, now transitioning to a Team Lead role - on the right in the photo below, with his family!
“I started my journey with Clipboard Health in March 2024 as a Workplace Support Agent. I took the ‘sponge’ approach and absorbed as much information as possible daily. I was proactive, often providing suggestions on areas where our knowledge base could improve to make processes easier to understand and follow.
That hands-on approach led to my promotion to Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Workplace Support in November 2024. This role opened new opportunities to collaborate with other teams, like Training, and to help agents transition smoothly from training to production while ensuring excellent customer experiences.
2025 started with a big bang, as I am now in the process of transitioning into a Team Lead position!”
